Very Special Guests for ‘Rebels to Reels’ Official Book Launch Night – Friday July 22nd 2022

We are delighted to announce that the official book launch of Rebels to Reels – A biography of Combat Cameraman Daniel A. McGovern USAF will take place at The Workhouse Building, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, Ireland on Friday July 22nd at 7.30pm. Several previous attempts to launch the biography had to be cancelled due to the Covid 19 pandemic but thankfully now, at last we can go ahead.

Carrickmacross was of course Dan McGovern’s hometown. A number of special guests will be in attendance on the night but we are particularly pleased to announce that a large party of the McGovern family are travelling to Carrickmacross from all over the United States for the launch. The McGoverns’ visit will also mark one hundred years from Dan and his parents and siblings left Carrickmacross for America in 1922.

This promises to be a book launch with a difference. It will represent the first opportunity to publicly celebrate in his hometown, the fascinating life and photographic career of Lt. Colonel Dan McGovern. The author will read segments of ‘Rebels to Reels’ during the launch and there will also be an opportunity to purchase signed and launch dated author copies of the book which will be available at its special promotion price.
